Join in the fun with these great local activities for the whole family.

5th Annual Spooktacular Halloween Party

  • Sunday, October 25 from 1pm to 5pm
  • Free event for kids of all ages at the Japantown Peace Plaza
  • Mall wide trick-or-treating, games, decorations, arts, and crafts
  • Other activities include a bouncy house, face painting, and removable tattoos
  • Children in costume can trick-or-treat at both the East and West Malls and will receive candy and other special surprises

California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park

  • SuperNatural Halloween Event
  • 6:30pm to 9pm on Friday, October 23
  • Activities include trick-or-treating, dancing, face painting, magic shows, live animal shows, pumpkins carving, crafts and food/beverages
  • The museum does close early this day, at 3pm, in order to prepare for the event
  • Tickets are $50 for adults and $35 for children, click here to buy them online today

JamBand Family Festival

  • A rock concert series from both kids and grown-ups
  • Halloween celebration is on Sunday, October 25 from 3pm to 5pm
  • All events are at the Park Chalet across from Ocean Beach
  • Enjoy a magical mix of music, dance, and fun

Halloween Hoopla at the Yerba Buena Gardens

  • October 31, 2015 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm
  • Free event
  • Music, crafts, and a costume parade
  • Children’s Garden in the Yerba Buena Gardens at 221 Fourth Street in San Francisco

Saturday Cinema: Halloween

  • Saturday, October 31 at 1, 2, & 3
  • Admission included with Exploratorium Ticket
  • Appropriate for all ages
  • Works include poetry, surrealism, and unique, handcrafted films

Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch

  • Open from October 1 to October 31 from 9am to 9pm every day
  • Find a variety of pumpkins including some not often found in other pumpkin patches
  • Crawl through the hay maze or take a hay ride through San Francisco

Halloween Carnival in Japantown

  • Sunday, October 25 from 1pm – 5pm
  • Games, prizes, tricks, and treats
  • Free
  • Japanese Peace Plaza between the East and West Malls

Halloween Hootenanny

  • 10th Annual Event in the Haight Ashbury District
  • Fun and safe place for kids to celebrate Halloween
  • This year’s theme is “Cops & Robbers”
  • Saturday, October 24 from 11am to 4pm
  • On Stanyan Street and Waller Street near Kezar Pavilion
  • Games, costume content, jumpy house and more

Boo at the Zoo

  • Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 from 11am to 3pm
  • Head out to the San Francisco Zoo in your favorite costume
  • Trick or treat stations, a Hay Maze and the popular Pumpkin Chomp N’ Stomp – where the animals get to have some fun too!
  • Creepy crawly adventure in the insect area
  • Pictures with Casper the friendly ghost
  • Kids in costume get a $1 off admission
  • Learn more about everything there is to see and do at the SF Zoo

Chinatown Halloween Neighborhood Festival

  • Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 12 Noon to 5:00 pm
  • Three locations: Waverly Place (between Sacramento and Clay Streets), Willie Woo Woo Wong Playground & Clubhouse (Sacramento Street and Waverly Place), Chinatown YMCA (Sacramento Street between Grant Avenue and Stockton Street)
  • Pre-sale Family Fun Packs are $2 for 25 tickets good for all activities (on sale from October 1-28)
  • Fun packs on day of event will be $5
  • Fun Packs can be purchased at the Chinatown YMCA, Willie Woo Woo Wong Playground Clubhouse, and Community Youth Center of San Francisco (1038 Post Street)
