Frightfully Fun Family Halloween Events
Families in San Francisco, Oakland and the Bay Area should get Halloween costumes ready for the many Halloween events being held for kids in 2017. There are several not-so-scary Halloween celebrations for children in the San Francisco area this year.
Boo at the Zoo
Oct. 28 & 29
San Francisco Zoo, Sloat Blvd. at the Great Highway, San Francisco, CA 94132
Boo at the Zoo will be a Halloween themed event for families, with trick-or-treat stations and not-so-scary ghosts and goblins. The last weekend of October will also be the final weekend of ZootoberFest, with the “Harvest Hallow” 5,000 square-foot hay maze. All activities will be included with paid admission to San Francisco Zoo & Gardens.
SuperNatural Halloween California Academy of Sciences

Dress in your favorite Halloween costume and have a ghoulishly good time at this family-friendly event at Golden Gate Park. The Academy will present Spooktacular animals and specimens, live animal shows, magic shows, trick-or-treating, giant pumpkin carving, dancing, face painting, crafts, photo booths, and food and drink. New this year will be the “Silent Disco in the Steinhart Aquarium.” General admission tickets $50/adults, $35/children (1-17). VIP tickets are also available and offer early admission.
6th Annual Spooktacular Halloween Party

Children in costume will be able to trick-or-treat at the East and West Malls and receive candy and prizes at this free Halloween party. There will be fun kid-friendly activities, including a bouncy house, face painting, removable tattoos, arts and crafts, and more.
Halloween Hoopla at Yerba Buena Gardens

The 17th annual Halloween Hoopla will be a free event featuring interactive performances and games for kids under 10 and their adults. The program will include the Yerba Buena Pumpkin Patch, live music, Pi Clown, crafts, and more. Bring a camera for the Hoopla Photo Booth. The Kids Costume Parade, starting at 1:30 p.m., will be the culmination of the party.
Halloween Town, Kids Hallo Eve

Halloween Town will be especially for kids ages 2-12 but will be fun for the whole family. The event will include a creepy bound house, trick-or-treat, games, prizes, live DJ, and free food. Admission for each kid will be $5. If you buy tickets online the two adults will be admitted free with child. Otherwise, tickets will be $5 each at the door.
Halloween Carnival & Monster March

Downtown Millbrae, Millbrae, CA
The Millbrae Lions sponsor the Halloween event, which will run from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
23rd Annual California Ave. Trick or Treat and Blossom Halloween Carnival

Halloween celebrations on California Ave. in Palo Alto will be geared towards kids aged 0-12 years old. Highlights will include trick-or-treating at local businesses, costume contest, Halloween photos, carnival games, music, dancing, and more
